Tweeting from the red carpet - the London Film Critics Circle Awards

Screen Scenes had the huge honour of tweeting live from the red carpet at the London Film Critics Circle Awards this week at the BFI, Southbank, London. We were asked by Film Section of the UK Critics’ Circle to cover the red carpet arrivals for them and to tweet the award winner announcements live on their Twitter feed - @londoncritics

The red carpet built up in anticipation as we welcomed Barry Norman, Mark Kermode, Edith Bowman, Jeremy Irvine, Olivia Colman, Nicolas Roeg, Jean Dujardin, Carey Mulligan, Michael Fassbender, John Boyega, Zawe Ashton, Kenneth Branagh and many more famous faces on a chilly night by the Thames. We then went to the press room to tweet the awards as they were announced, and also to take photos and chat to the winners as they entered the press room. All winners seemed pretty enthusiastic and chuffed to be there, especially the delightful Jean Dujardin and Michel Hazanavicius, star and director of The Artist, which picked up Best Director, Best Actor and Best Film. They were larking around for the cameras and, we think, genuinely missing the fact that Uggie wasn't there.

But the spot of the night for us had to be the immense Donald Sutherland. You can't mess with this. We can die happy.

Thank you to the fabulous Rich Cline at the UK Critics' Circle for the fabulous opportunity and we hope we can come back next year!
