David Jonsson is the new Black Panther! The news was revealed by director Ryan Coogler at the the Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con, San Diego, US, on 25 July 2026.
Black Panther III will see Jonsson play the adult version of T’Challa (Toussaint), the child of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa and Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia.
Jonsson has impressed on screen with films including The Long Walk, Alien: Romulus and Wasteman, and it's easy to forget how relatively new he is to film with just six credits to his name so far. Black Panther III will send him stratospheric.
The film is due to be released on 15 December 2028.
